For the last three and a half weeks we’ve been organizing some new stuff for the bus. First we had to clean out all the gear from under the back bed, and cram it into the tent.
And then we had to remove the bed, which was probably the easiest part of the whole job! Then an acquaintance of ours, who happened to have the right technology, cut the rear seat out of the bus, leaving us with a massive hole in the floor.
Meanwhile Daddy was patching up the bus, which had a few rust patches by the front wheel. Fast forward two weeks, the guy had welded on a towbar and we still had a hole in the back and my parents were sleeping on a mattress on the floor. We brought some wood and got to work. SikaFlex on the metal bars, then we stuck the wood on it and put a few screws in it for good measure.
One flat out day of drilling, screwing, measuring, and riveting, and we’ve put the bed back in – twice as high as before!
We now just have to put in Gabrielle and Suzanna’s bed on the right.
On a totally different note, poor Tess is “10-7” for a while. She came back limping, without the ball, during our evening game of fetch. She’s ripped part of her foot open. Jessica put colloidal silver on it to ward off any infection, but I think Tess should take it easy for a while. Although she seems to disagree entirely – she’s currently running up and down the bus with a half broken tennis ball!
Great post ... poor Tess, she really needs to learn to be careful!
